A station inspection round through central Paris
An inspection team must visit 20 Vélib stations between Pont Neuf, the Louvre and Les Halles. We tested a different visit order, keeping every stop.
Visit the nearest unvisited station next.
Plan the whole round before setting off.
Same stations. Lines show straight-line distances.
571 m less between the same 20 stops
This is a planning exercise using real Paris station locations. Road travel and inspection time would be needed to estimate working-hour savings.

Assumptions & verification
We selected the first 21 stations in station-code order: one assumed base and 20 visits. The reference always visits the nearest remaining station. Both plans visit every station once and return to the same base. Distances are rounded haversine meters; service time is excluded. This is a planning exercise, not an actual Vélib inspection operation.
Every displayed plan was rescored and independently checked. Three-second search budget; no proof of optimality. The downloads include inputs, assignments and verification records.
